Submission Guidelines

With your submission you warrant that the photos/documents are your original work and will not violate the rights of any third party, and/or you have obtained all releases and permissions necessary for our use. In the case that you as the submitter are not the photographer, you guarantee that the photographer agrees with your submission and the photographer is aware and agrees that the submission has to be unpublished until its publication in Avari Magazine.

By allowing Avari Magazine to publish your work, you grant us permission to use your work in any of our publications, websites, marketing material, advertisements, videos and any other mediums or formats used in the creation, dissemination, and monetization of Avari Magazine content. Submitting your work does not guarantee that you will be featured in the magazine.


Magazine Submissions

AVARI Magazine is returning in 2018 and we couldn't be more excited! We will begin accepting submissions for the print and digital magazine January 1st, 2018. Until then we are accepting website submissions. for more information Please see the website submission guidelines.

All submissions are made via email. In the Subject Line of your email, please indicate which theme/edition of the magazine for which your work should be reviewed.

Artwork

Submissions of art work may be in the form of drawings, paintings, sketches, collages, or any mixed media. The art must also align with one of our monthly themes. To submit your artwork, please submit the following to submissions@avarimagazine.com:

  • A minimum of 4 low-res jpeg images of the work you wish to be considered
  • The titles for each piece of artwork.
  • A link to your website or social media site where we can see more of your work.

Beauty & Fashion Editorials

We accept photography submissions for fashion and beauty editorials. All photography submissions must align with one of our monthly themes. We prefer images that have not been published in print or online (including social media) but will consider the photos if they fit the theme and meet our design standards. Fashion Editorials should include different clothing in each shot (or set), and present a cohesive story. To submit your editorial spread, please submit the following to submissions@avarimagazine.com:

  • A minimum of 8 low-res jpeg images of the work you wish to be considered
  • The title of your work/editorial .
  • A link to your website or social media site where we can see more of your work.

What Happens Next?

If your magazine submission is accepted for publication you will receive an email from Avari Magazine 5 days following the submission deadline notifying you that your submission has been selected. While early submissions are encouraged, acceptance notices are only sent after the submission deadline has past.

If your submission is selected, we require the following:

  • All images must be at 300dpi and 8.75x11.25 inches or 11.25x17.25 inches minimum. The images cannot contain any watermarks.
  • A link to your website and links to each of the following if you have them: Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts (we want to follow your work!)
  • All Team Credits along with a link to their websites and/or one social media site where we can find more of their work if available.
  • Wardrobe credits for any designers that you worked directly with.
  • Artists Only: A short artist’s bio of approximately 250 words.

The magazine will be published quarterly. Submissions are due six months prior to the print date. Once the magazine is published you will receive digital tear sheets that you may use for marketing on your website, Facebook, etc.

Some of the submissions which are published are additionally featured via our Social Media channels (Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest and/or Twitter).

Website Submissions

Webitorials

Webitorial submissions do not have a theme, but we do expect them to be in line with the current season.  All submissions should be emailed to submissions@avarimagazine.com: Webitorial submissions should include:

  • A minimum of 8 low-res jpeg images of the work you wish to be considered
  • The title of your work/editorial .
  • A link to your website or social media site where we can see more of your work.

Faces

Our Faces section is reserved for test shoots with new or upcoming models. We do not have any seasonal or theme requirements for this section of our website. Faces is a way to have your favorite test work featured and showcase aspiring models.

  • A minimum of 6 images
  • A link to your website or social media site where we can see more of your work as well as a link to the model’s online portfolio or fan page.
  • Fill out and submit the Model Interview form.

What Happens Next?

If your website submission is accepted for publication on our website you will receive an email from Avari Magazine notifying you that your submission has been selected. In your email you receive:

  • The date your submission will be published
  • Any follow-up questions we may have

If your submission is selected, we require the following:

  • All images at 150dpi and with the same crop ratio throughout the set. For example the images could be cropped to 4x6 and 6x4, all square or even 8x0 and 10x8. The images cannot contain any watermarks.
  • A link to your website and links to each of the following if you have them: Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts (we want to follow your work!)
  • All Team Credits along with a link to their websites and/or one social media site where we can find more of their work if available.
  • Wardrobe credits for any designers that you worked directly with.
  • Faces Only: The model will be asked to complete a short questionnaire to share with their feature allowing our readers to get to know them and their modeling work.
